Jan Hodson - President

I've been a Texas Master Naturalist since 2002 and a Master Gardener for 10 years. I've always been interested in insects and attended many educational programs on bees as a MN and MG. I became interested in getting bees for property ag exemption. Other people put their bees on our property for short periods. I got stung, now I'm hooked on these fascinating super organisms called bee colonies. Keeping bees a sustainable ag option that does not destroy the ecosystem.
I currently have 11 hives. (The totals change a lot during the season.)  I helped start the Denton Co Beekeepers association and served as Treasurer for 2 years. I started the Elm Fork Beekeepers Association (in March 2018) as a nonprofit for people in the area to have an ethical organization focused on educational outreach to learn about and manage bees. Keeping bees requires life long learning. My girls are always surprising me...
